Japanese EAP students face significant hurdles as the world around them contracts, but the demands they face loom larger than ever. This presentation outlines an effort to aid these students on their journey through taking part in an integrated academic discussion program with returnee and international students. This small trial uncovered both positive findings and sobering challenges that may prove very informative to those engaged in preparatory EAP programs in Japan; especially those connected with EMI curriculums featuring multicultural student populations.
