Short paper (30 minutes)
Milena A. Guziak (Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts)
The very act of attending a school results in the reduction in autonomy due to the processes that must be followed by students. On the other hand, it is within the classroom`s walls where this reduction may be compensated. The objective of this presentation is to discuss some practical solutions such as responsibility circles, student-to-student feedback sessions and safe spaces to address the students’ broken commitments, which can be used in managing a large size class. This presentation is one part of an ongoing project aimed at enhancing students’ performance through the application of Academic Life Coaching concepts in EFL communication classes.
